Facing the uncertainty due to the outbreak of Covid-19, KSP Sahabat Mitra Sejati was moved to provide assistance in the form of basic food packages to the people who are economically affected by the outbreak. Assistance was provided in 20 affected areas, including 4 cities in Sumatra, 8 cities in Java and Bali, 6 cities in Sulawesi, and 1 city each in Kalimantan and Papua.

There were 10,000 food packages distributed in 2 batches. The first batch was conducted on May 14-18, 2020 while the second batch will be carried out in June 2020. The funds used for this activity was coming from the cooperative’s member and employees, as well as Bank Sampoerna’s management and customers as the cooperative’s strategic partner.

This activity was held in collaboration with Bank Sahabat Sampoerna as cooperative’s strategic partner, the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives & SMEs, the Office of Cooperatives, and the local regional police offices. Beside of that, the procurement of groceries was held in collaboration with cooperative’s members who have groceries stores in each area.
